Read-a-Thon 2011
2500 hours of reading at The Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg

On Friday the 21st of October, the learners of the DSJ spent the night at school reading at the annual read-a-thon. Approximately 500 learners from Grades 1-11 spent the afternoon and night together reading in what proved to be a successful effort to raise funds to buy new books for the school library.

Altogether the learners and some of their parents raised R63500 with which they purchased over 1000 new books for the school library. An evening of words and more words at which great fun was had by all!
