Senior Level (grades 10-12)
At the end of grade 9 learners choose their subjects for the National Senior Certificate. The DSJ offers a wide variety of subjects. In addition to the compulsory subjects German, English, Afrikaans (exemption possible) and mathematics, learners may choose three further subjects from the following: life orientation, physical science (consisting of physics and chemistry), business studies, geography, history, information technology and visual art. At the end of grade 12 they then sit for the IEB (Independent Examinations Board) examination.
